The BlackGEM Southern All Sky Survey (BG-SASS)
To enable the hunt for gravitational wave counterparts a deep multi-colour image of the Southern Skies is required. Against this reference frame will the new, fleeting signals from neutron star and black hole mergers be measured.
The BlackGEM Southern All Sky Survey will be the first survey performed with the BlackGEM array. It will use all six filters (u,g,q,r,i,z) with a detection limit down to 22nd magnitude, by 5 minute integrations per field per filter. The full sky south of declination +30º will be charted, for the first time ever in such depth and detail.
