Very short period CV. It has obviously high helium-abundance so may be a transition object between CVs and AM CVn stars. Note however that its mass ratio is a fair bit higher than one would expect a bona fide AM CVn to have at the same orbital period, so it should be a stronger GW sources as a result. This one shows outbursts; the mag (g) is the quiescent value from SDSS. Paper Carter et al 2013 (TRM)
Little studied. Only Augusteijn et al. (1996). Vmag is in quiescence. (PJG)
Unusual system with an evolved and still quite hot mass donor star which is probably helium rich (i.e. potential AM CVn progenitor) Thorstensen et al (2002). The masses and inclination are subject to the usual uncertainties associated with non-eclipsing cataclysmic variables. The Vmag is that for quiescence; in outburst the system is about 5 mags brighter (TRM).
An eclipsing cataclysmic variable that has evolved to below the orbital period minimum and is a potential AM CVn progenitor Szkody et al 2005. The magnitude given is in quiescence out of eclipse. (TRM)
ZZ Ceti (pulsating) white dwarf in a cataclysmic variable van Zyl et al 2004 (TRM).
Distance quoted as priv comm from John Thorstensen in Sion et al 2003
Masses derived from Doppler Tomography during the 2001 outburst Steeghs et al 2001
The V mag is that for quiesence
Eclipsing cataclysmic variable from the SDSS Szkody et al 2005. Note that the period quoted in Szkody et al 2005 is too short (TRM).
