+**Dark storms near supermassive black holes**
+Supermassive black holes at the centers of galaxies grow together with the
+surrounding stellar bulge, an indication of strong feedback of the black hole
+with its environment. One way to study this process is by observing the
+photoionised outflows from the black hole region. In this presentation I will
+show how progress is being made in this field using the example of the
+Seyfert galaxy NGC 5548. In this source a dark and dense storm close
+to the black holes blocks a major part of the ionising radiation in more
+remote regions, allowing detailed studies of the physical environment close
+to and far away from the black hole.
