LIGO/Virgo software on Gentoo Linux

LSC-Virgo collaboration Gentoo Linux Here are ebuilds for (some of) the packages from the LIGOtools / LALSuite distributions (software used by the LIGO/Virgo collaboration). Copy them to your local portage tree (/usr/local/portage/sci-libs/<packagename>), create a manifest ("ebuild <file.ebuild> manifest"; see Using custom ebuilds with Gentoo Linux), unmask them in /etc/portage/package.keywords and emerge them as usual. Make sure to get a coherent set of versions for a given release date, as packages are often not backward compatible. Instead of downloading them one by one, you can download the whole sci-libs subtree, including Manifests and metadata.xml files.

These packages will soon be added to the Gentoo Science Overlay. See also the Astro ebuilds.
